Responsibilities:
- Support operational planning and execution for preclinical, toxicology, bioanalytical, and translational research programs.
- Partner with scientific leadership to develop and maintain integrated study plans, timelines, milestones, and operational deliverables.
- Identify operational risks; maintain a program-level risk tracker; develop mitigation strategies to support successful study execution.
- Establish, implement, and continuously improve operational processes, tools, templates, and governance frameworks.
- Assist the Department Head with scheduling/executive assistant activities (approx. 15% time allocation).
- Serve as primary operational lead for CROs, laboratories, consultants, and external vendors.
- Manage vendor onboarding, contracts/SoWs, purchase orders, amendments, and vendor performance tracking.
- Partner with Procurement, Legal, Finance, and Quality to ensure timely execution of agreements.
- Monitor vendor deliverables, timelines, and budget performance; escalate issues as needed.
- Facilitate cross-functional meetings; document decisions/action items and track deliverables to completion.
- Maintain inspection-ready, properly archived study documentation.
- Manage operational budgets, PO/invoice reconciliation, accrual tracking, and spend forecasting.
- Support annual budget planning and quarterly forecasting with Finance.
- Develop dashboards for program/study costs, vendor spend, and resource utilization.
- Develop KPIs; streamline workflows; improve collaboration; champion operational excellence.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Business, Operations, or related field.
- 6+ years in biotechnology/pharma/CRO/life sciences.
- 3+ years supporting preclinical development, toxicology, and translational research.
- Experience managing vendors/CROs, contracts, budgets, and operational processes.
- Cross-functional partnership experience (scientific, finance, procurement, legal, quality).
- Strong project management/organizational skills.
- Excellent written/verbal communication and stakeholder influence.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and common business systems; NetSuite/LinkSquares/Smartsheet preferred.

Work Location/Conditions:
- Remote in the U.S. (not considering AK, AZ, HI, MI, TN).
- Travel to Cambridge, MA several times per year; attend events as requested.
- Reliable internet/phone and ability to video conference.

Compensation (estimated):
- $123,000–$138,000 USD.
