Role Summary
Manager, Procurement Category IT responsible for building robust and relevant category strategies aligned to business needs and market dynamics. Serves as global Supplier Relationship manager to select strategic suppliers and drives maximum value and innovation from those partnerships. Works with the business, J&J technology teams, key suppliers, Global Services, and the broader Procurement function.
Responsibilities
- Understand the JJ Technology priorities and devise category strategies that advance those priorities.
- Collaborate with business leaders and Service Delivery teams to ensure procurement strategies meet business needs and are adopted within the business.
- Identify industry trends to incorporate into category strategies for sustainable relevance.
- Partner with Category and Service Delivery teams in the execution of strategic sourcing events, negotiations, and contract lifecycle management.
- Develop and maintain strong strategic relationships with key suppliers.
- Deliver against savings, innovation, and other performance targets for the organization in the roleβs area of responsibility and ensure target achievement.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelorβs Degree required; MBA or other advanced degree desirable.
- Required: Minimum 5 years related experience (preferably in Procurement, Business Operations or Supply Chain).
- Required: Influencing skills β able to persuade others to change behavior in pursuit of a common goal.
- Required: Strong leadership and collaboration skills at the executive level, as well as with peers.
- Required: Ability to work cross-functionally with IT, legal, finance, and business teams.
- Required: Strong verbal and written communication skills, able to present complex information to executives.
- Required: Broad-based understanding of core procurement areas including spend management and source-to-pay.
- Required: Understanding of legal terms, compliance, and risk management in contracts.
- Required: Demonstrated ability to work with data and digital tools to drive insights and efficiency.
- Required: Strong project and change management capabilities.
- Required: Learning agility and ability to develop others.
- Required: Ability to deliver against Goals and Objectives while balancing shared team responsibilities.
- Preferred: Experience in Pharmaceuticals, Life Sciences, Medical Technology sectors.
- Preferred: Managing IT procurement across Lifesciences, Pharmaceuticals.
- Preferred: Credibility with internal customers and supplier community based on broad experience.
- Preferred: Track record of leading cross-functional teams.
- Preferred: Flexibility to respond to changes in the external environment.
Additional Requirements
- Travel: 10% travel requirement - international and US domestic (as applicable).
