Role Summary
Manager, Procurement Category IT. Based out of Titusville, NJ; Raritan, NJ; New Brunswick, NJ; or Tampa, FL. Responsible for building robust category strategies aligned to business needs and market dynamics; serves as global Supplier Relationship manager to strategic suppliers and maximizes value and innovation from partnerships; collaborates with the business, J&J technology team, key suppliers, Global Services and the broader Procurement function.
Responsibilities
- Understand the JJ Technology priorities and devise category strategies that advance those priorities.
- Collaborate with business leaders and Service Delivery teams to ensure Procurement strategies meet business needs and are adopted within the business.
- Identify industry trends that Procurement must incorporate in its category strategies to ensure sustainable relevance to the business.
- Partner with the Category and Service Delivery teams in the execution of strategic sourcing events, negotiations and contract lifecycle management.
- Develop and maintain strong strategic relationships with key suppliers.
- Deliver against savings, innovation and other performance targets for the organization in the roleโs area of responsibility and ensure target achievement.
Qualifications
- Education: A Bachelor's Degree is required, and an MBA or other advanced degree is desirable.
- Required: Minimum 5 years related experience (preferably in Procurement, Business Operations or Supply Chain); influencing skills; strong leadership and collaboration at executive level and with peers; ability to work cross-functionally with IT, legal, finance, and business teams; strong verbal and written communication; broad understanding of core procurement areas including spend management and source-to-pay; understanding of legal terms, compliance, and risk management in contracts; ability to leverage data and digital tools to drive insights and efficiency; strong project and change management; learning agility; ability to deliver against goals while balancing team responsibilities.
- Preferred: Experience in Pharmaceuticals, Life Sciences, Medical Technology sectors; IT procurement experience across Lifesciences/Pharmaceuticals; credibility with internal customers and supplier community; track record leading cross-functional teams; adaptability to external environment changes.
