Position Summary
The Manager, Laboratory Operations will manage the Product Development Laboratory, ensuring a productive and safe environment for research, cell banking, process and analytical work. Oversee lab equipment performance, lab supplies ordering and inventory, laboratory information systems, and cell bank inventory maintenance.

Essential Functions
- Support operations at the Torrey Pines site with the Facilities Manager to ensure timely maintenance and repairs of site and laboratory equipment.
- Manage purchasing (quotes, requisitions/orders, shipment tracking/expediting/receiving) for lab materials and supplies.
- Collaborate with requesting departments; manage vendor performance.
- Manage consumables inventory.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance and repairs; supervise inspection, cleaning, calibration, qualifications, testing, and repairs of lab equipment.
- Create, edit, and enforce SOPs, process improvements, and quality standards.
- Manage a team of direct reports (hiring, training, coaching, performance monitoring).
- Manage shipping and documentation for sterility and bioburden testing (internal or contract).
- Act as Secondary EHS on-site contact (SDS management; liquid/solid waste pickups; proper chemical/biohazard storage).
- Perform ad-hoc and cross-functional duties/projects.

Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline required.
- 7+ years progressive biotech/pharma industry experience required.
- 2+ years leading/supervising a small lab-support team strongly preferred.

- Technical laboratory operations knowledge.

Working Environment
- Onsite in Torrey Pines, CA; laboratory environment.
- Monday–Friday, within standard business hours (flexibility with approval).
- Occasional lifting/carrying up to 10 lbs; push/pull up to 12 lbs.
