Role Summary

APEX is seeking a strong analytical Manager II to join a high-performing team supporting Sales and Marketing initiatives. You will deliver analysis, insights, and recommendations to Marketing leaders in support of brand strategy, using analytics to identify performance trends and build a narrative for strategic and tactical adjustments to drive business results. You will partner with Brand and Sales Leadership, including the commercial VP, to align Marketing strategies and priorities while supporting the current and future portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Independently work with key business stakeholders, up to VP, to provide data-driven actionable insights. Become an indispensable business partner to commercial stakeholders (marketing and sales) via consistent high-quality data-driven analysis with a strategic mindset for a critical growth brand for AbbVie.
  • Lead fast-paced ad-hoc analytics projects, identifying key business questions related to product performance to inform strategic and tactical decisions and brand planning, incorporating multiple stakeholder perspectives.
  • Strengthen understanding of marketplace performance and opportunities through tracking, modeling, and analysis of physician- and patient-level dynamics within a rapidly evolving competitive landscape.
  • Evaluate the impact and contribution of promotional tactics on new patient starts and total prescription volume, monitor performance against forecasts, and share root-cause analyses with stakeholders.
  • Guide development of marketing investment strategy to increase effectiveness/efficiency of promotional activities and influence deployment of tactics through local optimization recommendations.
  • Collaborate with forecasting to ensure data integrity and inform financial forecasting through calibration of patient flow models.
  • Utilize innovative modeling and analytic methods and produce results that leverage data, analytics, and cross-functional insights across functions.
  • Work with cross-functional partners to deliver an integrated analytics and measurement plan reflecting diverse contributions across functions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree required, with a concentration in Business Analytics, Finance, Marketing or in a quantitative field preferred.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in quantitative analysis of sales and marketing information, including use in developing business plans and strategies.
  • Experience with Advanced Business Analytics/Machine Learning.
  • Experience with third-party pharmaceutical data sources (e.g., IQVIA/SHS Sales Data) and specialty pharmacy data; experience in promo optimization, digital, launch support, etc., is a plus.
  • Experience extracting and validating patient and claims data using SQL/SAS, performing advanced statistical analyses, building models, and using tools such as Dataiku.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively and influence in a matrixed organization.
  • High motivation, strong work ethic, and positive attitude under tight timelines.
  • Advanced communication and influencing skills, including storytelling via Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Advanced agility, accountability, project management, and prioritization skills.
  • Advanced vendor management skills.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills with a proven ability to collaborate with senior management and multiple teams in a matrix organization.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Access) and SQL; experience with SAS/SPSS/PowerBI preferred.
