Role Summary

Manager, Forecasting. Responsible for providing forecasting support to the commercial organization for either Acadia’s neuroscience or rare disease franchise, collaborating across Sales, Marketing, Patient Service, Finance, Manufacturing, and other functions. Develop annual budget forecasts, latest estimates, long-range planning, and situational assessment using robust forecasting techniques and cross-functional input.

Responsibilities

  • Support global forecasting efforts with commercial leadership (US, Canada, EU), brand/franchise leads, patient services and finance to develop multi-year monthly patient, unit, and revenue forecasts for neuroscience or rare disease products.
  • Provide demand (patients on product, shipments, units) and revenue estimates for month-end, quarter-end and year-end performance to commercial leadership, executive team, brand leads, finance, and investor relations groups.
  • Design, build and maintain accurate forecasting models and predictive methodologies; apply analytics to forecast inputs.
  • Identify and incorporate novel forecast approaches to advance the forecast function.
  • Maintain monthly financial and manufacturing forecasts and annually revise the long-range forecast with Finance, Marketing, Manufacturing, and Managed Markets.
  • Perform in-depth data analysis to build robust assumptions library and forecast inputs.
  • Monitor forecast accuracy and propose corrective actions when necessary.
  • Present and defend forecast approach, methodology, assumptions, and outputs to multiple levels of management.
  • Collaborate with Commercial Analysis, Insights and Operations on modeling, data, and market research needs; respond to senior leadership requests.
  • Ensure forecasting activities comply with financial and ethical guidelines.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, finance or related field; MS/MBA preferred. 5+ years in Commercial or Sales Operations with at least 2 years in forecasting in pharmaceutical/life sciences.
  • Must possess: Proven experience designing, building, and maintaining forecasting models using MS Excel or other forecasting applications; strong understanding of forecasting methodologies (including EPI and historical trend approaches); advanced modeling skills; excellent analytical reasoning and financial acumen; strong communication and collaboration skills; ability to present at executive level.
  • Preferred: Experience in forecasting for neuroscience or rare disease products; experience across US/Canada/EU markets; experience with forecasting software and reporting applications.

Additional Requirements

  • The position is based in Princeton, NJ or San Diego, CA with a hybrid model requiring in-office presence three days per week on average.
