Primary objective: Provide financial leadership for the Plan and LRP (Long-Range Planning) process for the Commercial Controllership organization, including financial analysis, recommendations, decision support, and development/implementation of processes to enable accurate and timely consolidations.
Core Responsibilities
- Support annual Plan and LRP for the Global commercial organization by coordinating financial forecasts, validating assumptions, and integrating business inputs accurately and on time.
- Prepare and consolidate planning information for Executive Staff, Global Commercial Finance, Corporate Planning, and other senior stakeholders.
- Guide commercial business units through planning cycles (guidance, timelines, consolidation, validation of assumptions).
- Facilitate cross-functional alignment across finance and key corporate functions (including legal, R&D, operations).
- Perform financial system tie-outs to ensure data accuracy and consistency across planning systems and reporting.
- Maintain and optimize planning systems/processes; standardize planning templates, content, and deliverables.
- Develop and maintain planning schedules, mock books, consolidated financial schedules, supporting P&L documentation, and executive presentations.
- Partner with area finance teams to create clear, actionable planning materials.
- Analyze results vs. benchmarks (annual Plan, LBE, prior year, and scenarios); identify trends, drivers, risks, opportunities, and variances.
- Support ad hoc analyses, special projects, and corporate planning requests.
- People leadership: manage/coach/develop direct reports; delegate and provide feedback; foster collaboration/accountability; support finance talent development.

Qualifications
- 7+ years progressive accounting/finance experience.
- Bachelorβs in accounting/finance; MBA or CPA preferred.
- Strong understanding of AbbVie financial planning processes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- SAP and BPC; Power BI (or other data visualization tools).
- Advanced Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to solve business problems via data identification, collection, analysis, and interpretation.
- Experience working independently and across teams/functions; strong stakeholder relationships.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and balance competing priorities.
