Engineering Manager
Responsibilities:
- Provide engineering and maintenance support to pharmaceutical packaging lines.
- Lead maintenance and engineering personnel across commercial operations for product assembly, label, and packaging.
- Support equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, triage, and process improvements.
- Ensure on-the-floor engineering/maintenance support to reduce production downtime; provide maintenance strategy leadership for equipment and systems.
- Improve maintenance instructions (Job Plans, Spare Parts Lists, PMs); own selected maintenance SOPs.
- Recommend/implement improvements to timing and coordination of maintenance activities; provide field support to resolve equipment and maintenance issues.
- Support safety, compliance, efficiency, and effective execution of maintenance work orders.
- Evaluate equipment/instrumentation maintenance and failure history; recommend improvements.
- Manage selected maintenance contract service providers.
- Facilitate technical communication across the site network (Tier meetings, escalations, vendor coordination).
- Apply advanced engineering/scientific principles supporting commercial GMP Final Drug Product operations (Ohio).
- Travel ~15%.
Qualifications:
- Master’s in engineering/related + 3 years; or Bachelor’s + 5 years; or Associate + 10 years; or HS/GED + 12 years.
- Experience directly managing people and/or leading teams/projects/programs and allocating resources.
Preferred:
- Mechanical Engineering/Mechatronics background.
- Manufacturing mechanical repair experience (packaging preferred).
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting.
- PLC, computer serialization, packaging equipment, vision inspection (Cognex, Systech).
- Organizational/project management, problem solving, technical writing; strong verbal/written communication; MS Office.
