Engineering Manager (Maintenance Support)
Responsibilities
- Provide engineering and maintenance services/support to pharmaceutical packaging lines.
- Lead maintenance and engineering personnel for product assembly, label, and packaging across commercial operations.
- Support equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, triages, and process improvements.
- Provide on-the-floor leadership to reduce production downtime; deliver maintenance strategy for equipment/systems.
- Improve maintenance instructions (Job Plans, Spare Parts Lists, PMs); own selected maintenance SOPs and implement improvements.
- Recommend and implement timing/coordination improvements for maintenance activities; provide field support to resolve equipment/maintenance issues.
- Support safety, compliance, efficiency, and effective execution of maintenance work orders.
- Evaluate equipment and instrumentation maintenance and failure history; recommend improvements.
- Manage maintenance contract service providers.
- Facilitate technical communication across the site network via daily Tier meetings, escalation processes, and vendor coordination.
- Apply advanced engineering/scientific principles to support commercial GMP Final Drug Product (FDP) operations at the Ohio facility.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Masterโs in engineering/related + 3 years related experience (or Bachelorโs + 5 years; Associate + 10 years; High school/GED + 12 years).
- Experience directly managing people and/or leading teams/projects/programs or directing allocation/resources.
Preferred Qualifications
- Mechanical Engineering/Mechatronics or related technical degree.
- Manufacturing experience repairing mechanical equipment (packaging equipment preferred).
- Strong mechanical proficiency and troubleshooting; understanding of PLC, computer serialization, packaging equipment, and vision inspection/serialization systems (Cognex Vision, Systech).
- Strong organizational, project management, problem solving, technical writing, and communication skills; MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
