Role Summary

This position reports to the Director, External Communications, Oncology and will support external communications across a range of approved and pipeline therapies that sit within Pfizer’s Oncology portfolio. The individual will help deliver U.S. and Global communication tactics and materials that support data, clinical and regulatory milestones, issues management, disease awareness and scientific/pipeline communications, while helping ensure integration across a broader Paid, Owned & Earned ecosystem. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute toward Pfizer’s ambitious goals in Oncology. The ideal candidate is someone proficient in hands-on execution, working in a fast-paced environment, and navigating a highly matrixed organization, as the role requires collaboration with teams across the broader organization, including Commercial, Social/Digital, Global Media Relations, Investor Relations, Medical Affairs, Public Affairs, Advocacy Relations and Clinical Development, among others. Experience in the biopharmaceutical industry (either at an agency or in-house) and/or oncology is required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist external communications team with the development and execution of communications plans to achieve the goals of the Oncology business. Create engaging, compelling, dynamic content (including social and digital) leveraging audience and brand data to help ensure resonance among key target audiences.
  • Support data & regulatory milestones, helping define communications approach and developing supporting materials, including but not limited to press releases, media statements, key messages, Q&A, content for owned corporate social media/digital channels. Assist with securing feedback and collating comments from broader cross-functional team.
  • Help manage issues and rapid-response communications. Develop appropriate communications materials, secure approvals and join relevant meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in convening cross-functional teams and agency partners to secure and compile feedback on strategies and materials, as well as to help keep timelines.
  • Partner closely with Paid Media partners on creation of brand briefs, RFPs for paid activations, tracking links, and overall integration within the paid ecosystem (across measurement, budgets and creative).
  • Help with local country communicator engagement in support of global campaigns, data & regulatory milestones and issues.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of experience
  • 4+ years in product communications; healthcare experience required. Oncology experience a bonus.
  • Deep familiarity with and navigation of medical/legal/regulatory review processes.
  • Excellent written, oral, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Wealth of experience developing full suite of communication materials to support a variety of activations – including but not limited to campaigns, issues, data & regulatory milestones and product launches.
  • Ability to work effectively cross-functionally in highly matrixed organization and manage multiple projects against tight deadlines.
  • Self-starter, able to work independently as well as with teams.
  • Creative thinker comfortable voicing thoughts and ideas with team/partners.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of experience
