Role Summary
This position reports to the Director, External Communications, Oncology and will support external communications across a range of approved and pipeline therapies within Pfizerβs Oncology portfolio. The role supports U.S. and Global communications tactics and materials that address data, clinical and regulatory milestones, issues management, disease awareness and scientific/pipeline communications, with integration across Paid, Owned & Earned ecosystems. Location: NYHQ; onsite 2-3x weekly.
Responsibilities
- Assist external communications team with the development and execution of communications plans to achieve the goals of the Oncology business. Create engaging, compelling content (including social and digital) leveraging audience and brand data to ensure resonance among key target audiences.
- Support data & regulatory milestones, defining communications approach and developing materials including press releases, media statements, key messages, Q&A, and content for owned corporate social media/digital channels. Gather feedback from cross-functional teams.
- Help manage issues and rapid-response communications. Develop materials, secure approvals and participate in relevant meetings.
- Convene cross-functional teams and agency partners to secure feedback on strategies and materials, and to help maintain timelines.
- Partner with Paid Media on brand briefs, RFPs for paid activations, tracking links, and integration within the paid ecosystem (measurement, budgets and creative).
- Assist with local country communicator engagement in support of global campaigns, data & regulatory milestones and issues.
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of experience
- Required: 4+ years in product communications; healthcare experience required. Oncology experience a bonus.
- Required: Deep familiarity with and navigation of medical/legal/regulatory review processes.
- Required: Excellent written, oral, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Required: Wealth of experience developing full suite of communication materials to support activations including campaigns, issues, data & regulatory milestones and product launches.
- Required: Ability to work effectively cross-functionally in a highly matrixed organization and manage multiple projects against tight deadlines.
- Required: Self-starter, able to work independently as well as with teams.
- Required: Creative thinker comfortable voicing thoughts and ideas with team/partners.
- Preferred: Oncology experience.
