Manager, Cloud FinOps Engineer

Role: Cloud FinOps Engineer responsible for optimizing cloud costs, governance, and usage across Bristol Myers Squibb's multi-cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP). Objectives include implementing FinOps principles via automation, platform design, and operational workflows to ensure scalable, efficient, and well-governed cloud consumption. Responsibilities encompass daily cost analysis, anomaly detection, developing automation solutions with Python, managing infrastructure-as-code with CloudFormation, and embedding cost controls into CI/CD pipelines. The role also involves partnering with SRE, security, network, application teams, and finance to translate architectural decisions into actionable insights, enforce tagging and cost attribution, and support compliance. Qualifications include 4-5+ years of cloud engineering or FinOps experience, proficiency in Python, cloud platform services, data analytics (SQL, Excel, visualization tools), and knowledge of cloud cost management tools. Preferred credentials include FinOps certification, experience with AWS Cost Explorer, enterprise cost tools, and observability platforms such as CloudWatch or Datadog. The position requires collaborative stakeholder engagement, technical problem-solving, and a focus on automation-driven cost optimization. Location flexibility includes hybrid or remote work, with some onsite presence depending on role classification.
