Role Summary

Manager, Business HR- Operations (Irvine) at AbbVie. Hybrid schedule with a minimum of 3 days/week onsite at the Irvine, CA manufacturing site. Strategic HR partner supporting site leadership with talent strategies to drive business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary strategic partner to the business. Assist in creating and implementing HR strategies to meet organizational and business needs.
  • Coach, consult, and influence business leaders regarding leadership development, succession planning, and talent management.
  • Develop and implement strategies to attract, develop and retain talent; lead talent development and succession planning efforts.
  • Ensure the effective delivery of all HR programs and services, responsible for HR results including client satisfaction, HR effectiveness, and related financial results.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with HR partners across Centers of Excellence and Service Centers to coordinate HR elements to meet business needs; manage relationships, HR roles/responsibilities, and service delivery commitments.
  • Provide consultation on organization design and effectiveness to ensure optimal performance.
  • Drive people manager development to clarify expectations, accountability, and employee experiences; promote a culture of engagement, performance, and inclusion.
  • Facilitate and model change; develop and deliver communication strategies aligned with priorities and objectives.
  • Champion AbbVie Ways We Work by modeling, educating, and coaching on these behaviors.
  • Prioritize critical projects based on business needs and resources.
  • Provide HR support to smaller manufacturing sites in California.

Qualifications

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial and Labor Relations, or related field required.
  • 6+ years of relevant HR experience.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of regulations and standards affecting the business; strong business acumen.
  • Experience with competency models and assessment tools (e.g., 360 assessments) to assess managers and support talent development.
  • Experience in data analysis and survey results analysis to generate insights for talent, culture, and engagement.
  • Project management or business experience.
