Role Summary
Maintenance Technician (Night Shift) focused on providing maintenance expertise to service, repair, and maintain pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment in a production environment. Works to understand customer needs, deliver strong customer service, and improve equipment uptime and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- This role is expected to improve equipment uptime, line efficiency, and increase overall equipment effectiveness in a production environment by condition monitoring, troubleshooting, and assisting in engineering changes.
- Maintain a good mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot and repair equipment while following departmental rules and regulations.
- Prioritize safety and abide by applicable safety procedures and practices.
- Troubleshoot the root causes of machine problems (e.g., excessive vibration or temperature, bearing failures, abnormal noises, and poor performance).
- Perform repairs and overhaul equipment (e.g., gear boxes, pumps, blowers, fans, and drives) including disassembly, setting tolerances, aligning, and resetting timing (e.g., air compressors, vacuum pumps).
- Set up equipment to design specifications (timing, leveling, alignment).
- Operate precision alignment equipment (e.g., Roma-align, lasers, etc.).
- Diagnose root causes quickly and accurately and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
- Accurately document repair actions in the CMMS program.
- Willing to assist in areas outside primary responsibilities and learn other skills as required.
Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED
- Minimum 2 years of maintenance experience
- Legally authorized to work in the United States (no visa sponsorship expected)
- Must satisfy background check and drug screening requirements
Skills
- English proficiency to communicate technical and business information
- Proficiency with business software programs (Maximo, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office Suite, etc.)
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Physical ability to work with or around equipment, climb ladders and stairs, and use PPE
- Hands-on experience with repair of equipment
- Ability to use basic troubleshooting tools (multimeters, calipers, etc.)
Education
Additional Requirements
- Overtime may be required during shutdowns, emergency situations, or periods of heavy workloads
- Work around potentially dangerous equipment, powders, liquids and gases; safety is paramount
- Possible transition to Night Shift 12-hr 2-2-3 schedule in the future
