Operations
The role supports facility HVAC/Refrigeration systems by enhancing equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and ensuring smooth operation of assigned processes.

Reports to: Associate Director of Maintenance.

Essential Functions:
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) on HVAC & Refrigeration equipment
- Develop/establish maintenance procedures, maintenance plans, and spare parts lists
- Perform/lead corrective and preventative maintenance on assigned processes
- Train personnel on consistent operation, maintenance, and response for plantwide refrigeration systems
- Document maintenance activities in SAP
- Partner with process owners to improve performance and reliability
- Lead maintenance team growth by training technicians and learning new systems
- Lead teams in Systematic Problem Solving (SPS) to perform Root Cause Analysis and resolve equipment issues
- Partner with Process Owners on practical equipment/work practice improvements
- Partner with Responsible Engineers and Manufacturing personnel to troubleshoot equipment problems
- Follow all safety and environmental requirements

Physical Requirements:
- Move equipment/supplies up to 33 lbs; able to be on feet up to 12-hour shifts
- Operate/inspect equipment using hands; may require corrected vision and color vision
- Occasionally climb ladders/work at elevated heights; may require latex gloves
- May work in cold environments, confined spaces, loud noise (with hearing protection), and outdoor weather
- Pass driving exam for powered industrial trucks; no valid driver’s license required

Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in a relevant field + 5 years facilities/utilities experience (or High School diploma/equivalent + 7 years experience, incl. equivalent military experience)
- Universal Refrigeration License required
- Thorough understanding of mechanical, electrical, and control systems
- Ability to interpret specifications/drawings/technical data sheets
- Ability to work rotating/night/extended shifts and/or weekends

Preferred:
- Knowledgeable in process areas listed above
- SAP or other automated records system experience
- Read schematics/wiring diagrams/technical documents; computer literacy
- Planning/organizing work and revising plans based on daily work plan
- Systematic problem-solving/troubleshooting; supports event response activities
