Operations
The Position
- Improve systems & equipment reliability on assigned process, reduce system/equipment downtime, and support operation of assigned process.
Essential Functions
- Follow safety and environmental requirements.
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Support development of maintenance procedures, maintenance plans, and spare parts lists.
- Perform corrective and preventative maintenance timely.
- Interpret mechanical/electrical specifications, drawings, and technical data sheets.
- Work rotating shifts, night shifts, extended shifts, and/or weekends.
- Document maintenance activities in SAP.
- Partner with process owners to improve performance and reliability.
- Train fellow technicians and learn new systems to grow the maintenance team.
- Use Systematic Problem Solving (SPS) tools for Root Cause Analysis and equipment issue resolution.
- Suggest practical equipment and work-practice improvements.
- Collaborate with Responsible Engineers and Manufacturing to troubleshoot.
Physical Requirements (high level)
- Move equipment/supplies up to 33 lbs; be on feet up to a 12-hour shift; may require ladder/elevated work, confined spaces, hazardous/odorous materials, hearing protection, and working in cold conditions.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in relevant field or equivalent military/industry training with understanding of mechanical, electrical & control systems.
- 1–5 years relevant work experience.
- Preferred: knowledge of one or more process areas; SAP/automated records experience; ability to read schematics/wiring diagrams; computer literacy.
- Plus: planning/organizing and managing execution; systematic troubleshooting and participation in event response; required documentation to drive rapid resolution.
