Role Summary
Maintenance Technician - Calibration at the Indianapolis Radioligand Therapy facility. The Calibration Technician will install, calibrate, repair, and maintain instrumentation used in the manufacturing, testing, and storage of pharmaceuticals. They will communicate with site stakeholders and support daily manufacturing while prioritizing safety and quality system effectiveness.
Responsibilities
- Calibrate, install, troubleshoot, and adjust equipment used to control and measure variables such as pressure, temperature, dimensional, mass, and motion.
- Prioritize safety and comply with applicable safety procedures.
- Maintain the effectiveness of the Quality System relevant to this position.
- Develop and maintain test procedures to verify instrument measurement performance.
- Enter data into CMMS databases, review calibration documentation, and create calibration certificates/work plans.
- Author and/or assist in nonconformance reports and deviations related to instrument performance.
- Communicate instrumentation problems with equipment owners and site leadership.
- Coordinate with vendors for shipping/receiving of calibration equipment.
- Maintain 5S principles in the Metrology laboratory and personal workspace.
- Diagnose root causes of problems and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
- Assist in areas outside primary responsibility and learn other skills as needed.
Qualifications
- Adequate interpersonal and communications skills for a team-based environment.
- Commitment to safe work practices and contributing to HSE goals.
- Ability to read and understand equipment drawings/electrical schematics.
- Regular exertion, including standing/walking for extended periods; lifting/carrying 15–50 pounds; occasional sitting and computer use.
Additional Requirements
- English proficiency for technical and business communication.
- Proficiency with business software (e.g., Blue Mountain RAM, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office Suite).
- Ability to work effectively in a team; willingness to work around equipment, climb ladders/stairs, and use PPE.
- Hands-on experience with equipment repair; ability to use basic troubleshooting tools (multimeters, calipers); CMMS experience preferred (Maximo/Blue Mountain RAM).
Education
- Associate Degree in engineering/engineering technology or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a GMP/GDP facility (pharmaceutical, medical device, nuclear, food, etc.).
Additional Information
- Role supports a 24/7 operation with flexibility for availability to support facility operations.
- Occasional travel may be required for training, conferences, and capital projects.
