Position Summary
Join our cutting-edge team as a Maintenance Technician in clean-room production of consumable micro-fluidic cartridges and capillary-based Western Blot cartridges. Provide engineering support to maintain and enhance semi-automatic manufacturing processes and ensure smooth operation of automated/semi-automated equipment (pick and place, liquid dispensing, fluidics bonding, inspection stations).
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain continuous operation of production equipment in a cleanroom via troubleshooting, repairs/parts replacement, and adjustments.
- Perform preventive maintenance to prevent downtime.
- Create or update preventive maintenance procedures.
- Communicate with operators and engineering staff on equipment functionality and maintenance needs.
- Collaborate with engineering to troubleshoot equipment/process issues and implement solutions.
- Participate in validation of equipment modifications and production testing.
- Train personnel on setup, operation, and troubleshooting.
- Gather and present maintenance event records during audits.
- Assist with maintenance of building/facility equipment as needed.
- Accept reasonable day-to-day changes in work.
- Occasional extended hours and weekend coverage.
Required Skills
- Proven hands-on mechanical skills.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Experience troubleshooting/repairing electrical and mechanical systems.
- Solid math/science foundation.
- GMP and ISO knowledge (preferred).
- Attention to detail; interpersonal/organizational skills.
- Experience with automation/assembly tech (pneumatics, vacuum systems, motors, actuators, fixtures).
- Effective teamwork.
Desired Skills
- Familiarity with LabVIEW, Beckhoff, and PLC control systems.
- Understanding manufacturing processes (machining, molding, material properties).
Education & Experience
- Associate degree in Manufacturing/Engineering/Electro-Mechanical (preferred).
- 3+ years Maintenance Technician experience plus a technical high school diploma.
Physical Demands
- Work in production environments (Bio-Labs and Clean Rooms).
- Lift/manage up to 35 lbs.
