Role Summary
Maintenance Technician - 2nd Shift. Maintains operating equipment with proficient technical knowledge, diagnoses and resolves equipment-related issues, and contributes to improving production line efficiency. Supports Formulation Filling, Packaging or Facilities Departments, providing technical/operational support, trouble-shooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance for equipment across classified areas from unclassified to Grade A aseptic environments. Adheres to SOPs and cGMPs; operates and maintains general manufacturing, packaging, and facility equipment; performs mechanical and electronic troubleshooting to ensure equipment operates per OEE.
Responsibilities
- Install, inspect, test, troubleshoot, adjust, repair, and perform line turnarounds; conduct general and preventative maintenance on production and supporting utility equipment.
- Follow established procedures to ensure timely and efficient operations; complete documentation in the work order system to close out activities in compliance with cGMPs.
- Perform batch record and GMP documentation entries as needed; maintain records and logs to support responsibilities.
- Operate under the direction of the Maintenance Facilitator; use testing tools and measuring equipment to maintain and troubleshoot electronic, environmental monitoring, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical line equipment.
- Set up equipment and make necessary adjustments to ensure optimal performance per process specifications.
- Provide training to technicians for equipment setup and minor adjustments or repairs.
- Interface with operations employees and outside vendors; develop and oversee equipment service contracts.
Qualifications
- Required: High school graduate, vocational school graduate or equivalent (GED); 5+ years mechanical, troubleshooting and repair experience in production/manufacturing.
- Required: Computer Skills: Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Overtime required with prior notice to support business needs; emergency overtime may be required with little notice.
Desirable Skills/Experience
- Pharmaceutical experience.
- Technical School or Trade Certification; formal apprenticeship in mechanical trades.
- Engineering/Automation background; Systech/SAP experience.
