Role Summary
Maintenance Technician II provides a high level of maintenance support for all equipment in the Galaxy filling process at TakedaβΓΓ΄s Round Lake, IL manufacturing site; maintains equipment in all areas of the Mix, Fill and Finishing complexes; ensures manufacturing lines are well maintained and ready to run during planned production time; provides on-time PM completion; troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems; service on an emergency basis as needed; adheres to plant safety and SOPs; supports continuous improvement and collaborates with manufacturing, engineering, and quality groups.
Responsibilities
- Accomplishes objectives with autonomy
- Learns and understands corporate specifications and plant SOPs governing the Galaxy process and local GMP
- Monitors manufacturing lines and communicates with manufacturing to reduce downtime
- Performs high-level troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
- Reviews PMs, ensures parts are in stock, and completes PMs on time
- Builds and rebuilds machine assemblies
- Communicates equipment issues and work status per Stop and Fix guidelines
- Initiates work orders using the JDE CMMS system
- Performs PM work and maintains equipment reliability and efficiency; completes related documentation
- Documents problems, breakdowns, or alarms in downtime tracking; initiates work orders and reviews equipment trends to prevent recurrence
- Shares knowledge and trains less experienced technicians
- Handles robots in production modes; troubleshoots robot-related issues affecting output and quality
- Continues knowledge through additional training
- Seeks help from Lead technicians and engineering when needed
- Promotes safe work practices and leads by example; reports unsafe conditions
- Maintains 100% on-time completion of required training
- Ability to read electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic drawings; experience with these systems
- Willingness to develop understanding of PLCs
- Strong teamwork and communication skills; good documentation practices
- MS Word, MS Excel, and JDE or similar CMMS proficiency
- Must not be allergic to Cephalosporin or related products
- Willing to travel up to 5% of the time
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required, plus 2+ years of experience or Associate degree or higher with 1+ years of related work experience
- Technical certifications a plus
- 3+ years manufacturing systems experience preferred
- Physical ability to lift/carry up to 100 lbs; stand/walk for extended periods
- Ability to work in a cold, wet environment; potential exposure to chemicals requiring respiratory protection
- Work around moving equipment; gowning and safety requirements as applicable
- Must be able to work multiple shifts including weekends; overtime as required

Education
- High school diploma or GED; additional technical coursework or certifications considered a plus
Additional Requirements
- Travel up to 5% as needed
- Work in controlled environment with gowning requirements as applicable
