Maintenance Manager Instrumentation
What You Will Do
- Lead, mentor, and provide technical expertise to a team of 6 to 12 maintenance staff.
- Provide field support to troubleshoot, identify, and resolve more sophisticated equipment maintenance issues.
- Establish and enforce performance standards; improve right-first-time completion.
- Ensure all work is completed safely, correctly, and in accordance with procedures; minimize disruption to site operations.
- Manage activities to eliminate waste and ensure appropriate cost of maintenance; enhance staff efficiency and resource utilization.
- Identify opportunities for improvement, recommend solutions, and manage implementation; foster continuous improvement.
- Communicate with key customers and support groups; identify and address schedule-breaking activities/flow interrupters.
- Manage maintenance service providers in a safe, compliant, and cost-effective manner.
- Develop/manages small improvement projects, including driving predictive analytics tools.
- Be routinely present in the field; remove obstacles; assess team skills and ensure staff development.
- Provide support as needed (nights, weekends, holidays).
- Other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- Doctorate degree; or
- Master’s degree + 3 years maintenance and/or operations/maintenance experience; or
- Associate’s degree + 5 years; or
- Bachelor’s degree + 10 years; or
- High school diploma/GDE + 12 years.
- Plus managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams/projects/programs/resource allocation (may be concurrent).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with a computerized maintenance management system.
- Bachelor’s degree in life science/technical/aligned field.
- 6+ years operations/manufacturing; 3+ years regulated environments (cGMP, OSHA, EPA).
- Experience with ATO GMP F&E clients/systems; in-depth GMP equipment and instrumentation knowledge.
- Experience supporting GMP capital project execution/verification.
- Process improvement methodology proficiency; strong written/verbal communication.
- Ability to support multiple clients and prioritize competing objectives.
- Troubleshooting/probblem-solving for electro-mechanical equipment and systems.
Shift/Location
- 12-hour rotating shift; 24/7 coverage aligned with ANC Manufacturing shift schedules at Amgen’s Holly Springs site.
