Position Summary:
This Legal Operations Manager will support contracting activities and patent administrative matters. Responsibilities include drafting, reviewing, and finalizing standard contracts and amendments with attorneys and the contract management team, updating contract templates, maintaining the contract database, assisting with legal records, and reporting to Senior Vice President, Legal.

Job Responsibilities:
- Serve as an escalation point for internal/external contract process/status questions and complex negotiations.
- Manage contract workflow and coordinate with cross-department liaisons to ensure efficient execution.
- Draft, review, and manage business contracts (e.g., NDAs, SOWs, consulting/service agreements, and vendor services agreements) under attorney supervision.
- Coordinate with outside counsel and the in-house legal team to obtain legal documents (e.g., patent declarations/assignments) and manage legal records; ensure accuracy and correct signature sequence.
- Maintain patent portfolio database (bibliographic data in Excel).
- Manage IP files (SharePoint, Box).
- Submit procurement requests (POs) for the Legal department.

Qualifications:
- BS/BA in related discipline with 5+ years of related experience; advanced business or law degree with 5+ years preferred.
- Paralegal certification (contracts and/or patent) preferred.
- In-house experience in biotech/pharma/life sciences preferred (contract management focus).
- Experience working with attorneys and senior leaders.
- Strong understanding of contract terms/structure and contract management (tracking, negotiation, approval, execution).
- Strong understanding of patents and the application process.
- Ability to work independently and across functional groups and management levels.
- Detail-oriented, strong organizational skills; ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines; strong written/oral communication.
- Experience/knowledge of paralegal support tasks (IP or corporate matters) preferred; strong computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- English and Chinese bilingual skills preferred.
