Role Summary
Lead Technician - Packaging (Day Shift) at Lilly RTP. Provide leadership on the packaging line, operate highly automated equipment, and ensure safe, high-quality production to meet daily schedule. Act as a technical resource for troubleshooting, develop operators, and coordinate with support functions to maintain a reliable supply of products for patients.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to RTP Plant safety policies and procedures, contribute to a safe work environment.
- Setup and operate highly automated equipment in the Device Assembly area.
- Provide leadership on manufacturing floor ensuring high level of safety, quality, and productivity to maintain reliable supply of products to patients.
- Serve as a technical leader: primary point of contact for issue escalation on the shop floor.
- Identify opportunities for operational improvements.
- Proactively monitor documentation and product quality, properly documenting all activities and reporting issues to supervision.
- Assist Supervisor in development and performance evaluations of shift operators.
- Act as a liaison between operations and support functions.
- Lead by example of Safety first & Quality always.
- Operate the equipment and lead the shift operations as required to meet production schedule.
- Assist in checking execution documentation (PMX, SAP, Cleaning Logs, etc.).
- Drive key departmental objectives including improving safety performance, reducing deviations, improving productivity, and training compliance.
- Act as back-up in Shift Supervisor absence.
Qualifications
- Required: Previous experience in operations or directly supporting a pharmaceutical manufacturing operation.
- Required: Ability to work 12-hour days on rotating shift.
- Required: Ability to work overtime as required.
- Required: Legally authorized to work in the United States; no sponsorship anticipated for visa status.
- Preferred: Previous Line Lead experience.
- Preferred: Experience with highly automated equipment.
- Preferred: Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems and electronic batch release.
- Preferred: Demonstrated leadership and persuasion skills.
- Preferred: Affinity for mastering technical concepts; understanding of FDA CGMP standards.
- Preferred: Effective written and verbal communication; flexibility and problem-solving skills.
- Preferred: Basic computer skills (desktop software).

Additional Requirements
- This role will train on day shift initially.
