Lead Operator, Packaging - 2nd Shift

Key responsibilities for the Lead Operator, Packaging role include:
- Assists in organizing resources to meet production schedule, quality, cost and safety objectives.
- Ensures efficient operation of assigned production lines (start/stop lines, clear jams, make minor packaging equipment adjustments).
- Monitors product for compliance with quality standards.
- Maintains inventory control of packaging materials (audits materials received and reconciles materials after production).
- Understands and operates the Statistical Process Control (SPC) system.
- Performs verification activities for critical packaging operations (weights, torques, AQL checks and other specified quality checks).
- Conducts in-process/finished product quality checks during packaging.
- Obtains samples for QC testing and Stability.
- Determines need to place material on QA hold; issues re-inspection, reprocess, and rework per procedure.
- Follows all safety rules and regulations.
- Maintains packaging area to good housekeeping standards.
- Maintains required forms and logs; follows First In-First Out (FIFO) from Materials Department.
- Can perform duties of a Lead Operator Trainee, Line Operator I and II.
- Performs Material Handler duties when necessary.
- Assists in training temporaries and new employees.

Minimum qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED (required).
- Minimum 10–12 years related experience.
