Role: Lead Kubernetes Platform Engineer and Technical Lead within 3M's Developer Services team, responsible for architecting, operating, and evolving the enterprise Kubernetes platform on Red Hat OpenShift on AWS (ROSA HCP). Objectives include consolidating Kubernetes estates, ensuring platform resilience, security, and cost-efficiency, and enabling secure cloud-native application deployment at scale. Core responsibilities encompass designing platform standards, leading core service engineering (e.g., ingress, observability, security), managing platform automation via GitOps and IaC, and overseeing day-to-day operations including upgrades, incident response, and capacity planning. The role involves providing technical mentorship on Kubernetes best practices, security controls, and modernization strategies across engineering teams. Qualifications require a bachelor’s degree in IT/Cybersecurity or equivalent experience with at least 5 years designing and operating Kubernetes platforms in cloud or enterprise environments, and 5 years in cloud infrastructure or DevOps disciplines. Preferred skills include Kubernetes certifications (CKA, CKS, CKAD), cloud certifications (AWS/Azure), OpenShift experience, robust security knowledge, scripting expertise (Python, Bash), and experience with observability and CI/CD tools.
