- Support translation of business goals and objectives into documented requirements; assist in developing problem statements.
- Document βas isβ and βto beβ business processes; gather and document functional and non-functional requirements.
- Map information system connections and data flows between systems; identify data elements and support data mapping and data dictionary documentation.
- Investigate data using SQL, Python, AI, and other tools; develop familiarity with data lake principles and common research database types.
- Maintain and organize the backlog of requests; communicate requirements to the development team and coordinate stakeholder updates.
- Engage with scientists and laboratory personnel to learn and document business processes and gather system/requirements information.
- Identify data quality issues and investigate contributing factors; document and communicate findings with business and IT partners.
- Handle tasks across projects, use sound judgment within defined procedures, and adjust priorities.
This Role Requires
- Bachelorβs degree in a life science, computer science, information technology, or related field.
- 2+ years of experience in a research or biotechnology environment.
- Prior biotechnology and/or pharmaceutical industry experience; working familiarity with tools such as Laboratory Information Management Systems, SQL databases, Python, agentic tools, and data documentation frameworks.
- Preferred: exposure to laboratory techniques, bioinformatics concepts, relational database principles, or IT software development lifecycle processes.
