Laboratory Operations Assistant

Role Summary

Laboratory Operations Assistant. Responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization of the laboratory, including cleaning and arranging glassware and keeping the lab area orderly. Must be able to lift 20 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Wash and clean glassware; arrange cleaned glassware in designated area after cleaning.
• Dust and mop thoroughly in the lab and adjoining areas.
• Clean benchtops, glassware storage, chemical storage cabinets and fume hoods.
• Clean and wash the dissolution baths and sonicators.
• Remove accumulated garbage and dispose of cardboard.
• Participate in lab cleanliness rounds with floor Supervisors.

Additional Responsibilities

• Order needed sanitary items and detergents in a timely manner.
• Assist Sample Coordinators during product disposal.
• Help Sample Coordinators and Lab Coordinators transfer lab resources from Warehouse to Laboratory.

Qualifications

• Education: High School or GED - Required

Skills

• Must be precise and consistent in day-to-day work; trainable and ready to learn.
• Must be able to read and understand English.
• Must be able to communicate problems or issues verbally as well as in writing.
• Must be computer literate; able to work in a team environment and adapt to changes in assignments.
• Willing to work extended hours, including weekends, as required.
