Responsibilities:
- Consult with scientific partners to understand laboratory operations’ needs, including equipment lifecycle considerations, regulatory requirements, and business impacts.
- Provide technical coordination for routine maintenance, problem resolution, escalation management, inventory management, deployment coordination, and post-implementation support for laboratory computing devices.
- Manage the laboratory compute support service provider: set service expectations, oversee daily execution, prioritize work, manage escalations, monitor performance, and drive continuous improvements.
- Lead, guide, and coordinate assigned analysts to ensure clear direction, consistent service practices, and timely deliverables.
- Partner with scientists and technology teams to assess how business needs, compliance requirements, and upgrade cycles affect laboratory operations and equipment lifecycle plans.
- Advise on laboratory equipment procurement and supplier discussions (compute requirements, integration needs, data storage, compliance expectations, security controls).
- Coordinate with technology partners to define architecture and implement integrations with other systems.
- Maintain knowledge of laboratory equipment/technologies/support practices to inform lifecycle planning and operational decisions.
- Build relationships with lab stakeholders and partner organizations; capture voice-of-customer feedback to improve service programs and support processes.
- Identify recurring support themes, operational risks, and opportunities for standardization/automation/service improvements.
- Communicate effectively with customers, technical teams, and service partners to ensure transparency and follow-through.

Service Provider Management Expectations:
- Coordinate daily/weekly priorities with the provider; review open/aging issues and escalations; reinforce documentation/handoff/customer communication standards; partner on performance/resource/service risk improvements; support onboarding/knowledge transfer; promote consistent compliant secure support.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s with 6 years’ experience; Master’s with 5 years; PhD (0) in information systems, computer science, life sciences, or related field.
- Relevant experience in IT, laboratory operations technology, informatics, endpoint support, or service delivery.
- Strong problem-solving/analytical skills; ability to diagnose complex issues and coordinate cross-functional resolution.
- Ability to lead/facilitate and work with customers, technical teams, service providers, and analysts.
- Excellent written/verbal communication; strong customer focus and attention to detail.
- Team-oriented, fast-paced cross-functional capability.

Preferred:
- 8+ years related experience; pharmaceutical lab experience.
- Knowledge of lab equipment lifecycle, laboratory computing devices, instrument controllers, regulated environments, data integrity, and security controls.
- Experience managing third-party service providers/outsourced support; inventory and deployment coordination; support process improvement and stakeholder communications.
