Role: Lab Assistant at Ascension St. Thomas Midtown Hospital focusing on clinical laboratory specimen handling and processing. Responsibilities: receive, sort, prepare, and document specimens; perform basic equipment maintenance and troubleshoot issues; ensure safety and adherence to SOPs. Requirements: high school diploma or equivalent; comfort with biological specimens, medical terminology, and data entry; attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Preferred: 1+ year experience in histology or clinical accessioning. High-Value: clinical lab environment, specimen processing, data management, safety compliance, and high-volume production. Work setup: 2nd shift (12pm-8:30pm), Monday-Friday, no weekends; flexibility for overtime; primarily on-site at hospital.
