Position Summary:
- Perform lab support duties and tasks for the Protein Sciences Segment, including harvesting and concentrating cell cultures for protein and antibody production.
- Collect and wash used labware; prepare labware for sterilization; run and maintain labware processing equipment.
- Maintain and calibrate equipment; maintain inventory; organize and unpack materials.
- Prepare buffers and solutions/media; prepare plates; harvest and concentrate cell culture media.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate autoclave and labware washer; hand wash labware per department protocols.
- Harvest and concentrate conditioned media; prepare for product purification (including cGMP productions).
- Operate and perform routine maintenance on Chlorine Dioxide gas sterilization room.
- Produce, prepare, and handle materials for cGMP production.
- Handle bio-hazardous waste following safety procedures.
- Maintain documentation of laboratory methods.
- Manufacture solutions, media, and plates; clean and maintain work areas.
- Help perform equipment calibrations, validations, and maintenance.
- Follow company safety and policy guidelines.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Required: working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel; computer entry/typing skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; multitask; good verbal and written communication.
Skills/Abilities:
- Knowledge of general lab equipment and centrifuge; knowledge of safety rules.
- Problem solving/critical thinking; plan/organize/multitask; communicate professionally.
- Attention to detail; work independently and on a team.
- Hours: 8:00 A.M.β5:00 P.M.
Physical Requirements:
- Stand/sit for extended periods; manual dexterity; lift up to 40 lbs.
