General Summary
- Responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with HCPs, developing a strategic business plan, and communicating disease and product knowledge to HCPs and centers of care.
- Leads engagement with nephrologists and serves as an account manager for specialty kidney clinics; reports to a Regional Field Leader.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Build meaningful relationships with nephrologists and related HCPs; manage specialty kidney clinic accounts.
- Develop expertise in disease, product clinical attributes, and patient unmet needs to educate HCPs on appropriate product use.
- Understand territory/market dynamics, stakeholder mapping, decision-maker management, patient protocols, referral networks, access, and drivers/barriers.
- Drive territory performance; collaborate cross-functionally; attend meetings and take on assigned projects.
- Exercise sound judgment and adhere to regulatory/compliance and company policies.
Knowledge, Skills, and Requirements
- Ability to understand/communicate complex clinical disease/product.
- Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication; customer orientation; team/cross-functional skills.
- Continuous learning mindset; core competencies in clinical acumen, selling, business acumen, and customer relationships.
- Expert knowledge of disease, HCP/patient resources, sales competencies, disease centers of care, and payer landscape.
- Documented sales success; IT competency (e.g., Veeva CRM); experience in matrixed environments.
Education and Experience
- Bachelorβs degree.
- Typically 5 years pharmaceutical field sales experience; experience in kidney/renal disease, rare disease, or similar specialty markets (product launch experience highly desired).
Must/May Include
- Complete required customer credentialing (trainings, background screens, drug testing, vaccinations).
- Live/work in the territory (may require proximity to a major airport); valid driverβs license.
- Travel up to 80%; 10β30% overnight travel; work after hours as needed.
Pay/Benefits (as stated)
- Pay range: $133,600β$200,400; annual bonus and annual equity.
