Job Summary
The Key Account Manager (KAM) for the Dry Eye Business Unit is responsible for launching and growing market share in a defined geographic area, with a strong focus on driving demand through the payer channel. Reports to the Area Sales Manager (ASM). Dry Eye product portfolio is Vevye. This role requires a highly motivated self-starter and about 70% travel.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Meet or exceed quarterly sales revenue and product goals.
- Take ownership/accountability for reaching company goals.
- Develop new customers while converting the existing customer base.
- Drive demand through organic pull-through and deploy reimbursement solutions.
- Call on ophthalmic healthcare professionals in defined markets.
- Develop critical physician and staff relationships within the assigned geography.
- Use internal resources to develop quarterly action plans and partner with accounts.
- Record all sales activity in CRM timely.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of ophthalmic product portfolio and competition.
- Articulate clinical benefits in a compliant manner.
- Follow up with a sense of urgency; collaborate with internal departments.
- Travel routinely throughout the assigned geography (about 75β80%, may include overnight stays).
- Understand and comply with Pharmaceutical Industry Code of Practice; comply with applicable state/federal requirements.
- Manage expenses ethically; act as customer liaison with continual follow-up.
- Submit required reports on time (including monthly expense reports).
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Bachelorβs degree in a related field.
- 1β4 years pharmaceutical or medical device sales experience (ophthalmic beneficial).
- Strong relationship building; ability to absorb product/practice information.
- Experience executing strategic, targeted business plans.
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Outlook.
- Preferred: clinical understanding in ophthalmology.
- Knowledge of payer landscape (Commercial, Medicare Part D, dual eligibility) and physician therapy decision-making.
- Excellent presentation, interpersonal, communication, written skills; independent judgment.
- Ability to multitask, solve problems, and become proficient with CRM system.
- 70% weekly travel in a defined territory with overnights required.
