Key Account Manager - Cardiovascular
What You Will Do
- Assess and diagnose the business environment in assigned accounts for Amgen Cardiovascular products; plan/execute actions for success.
- Develop and execute compliant key account strategies to reach difficult-to-access providers/accounts.
- Maintain account profile, needs assessment, and strategic plan.
- Meet routinely with cardiology/lipidology/pharmacy/P&T committee opinion leaders as partners/decision-makers.
- Present MAC-approved data and comply with CV product messaging and governing policies.
- Ensure formulary adoption in targeted/assigned hospital accounts; coordinate pull-through and access.
- Monitor Amgen Cardiovascular portfolio business performance.
- Identify drivers/barriers and coordinate pull-through initiatives across field teams (sales, district/region leadership, reimbursement/access, nurse educators, regional marketing, value-based partnership).
- Coordinate approved promotional programs, displays, and hospital initiatives with matrix/alliance teams.
- Build relationships with key customer decision-makers (hospital pharmacy, lipid/heart failure clinical and quality directors, hospital finance).
- Partner with Organized Customer Team Regional Account Executives and Regional Medical Liaisons.
- Coordinate with Reimbursement Access Value team to support open access.
- Provide field intelligence/recommendations to home office and pricing/brand/GPO teams.
- Lead contract delivery, business reviews, performance tracking; organize competitive response; execute value/FDAMA 114 tools as appropriate.
What We Expect Of You
Basic Qualifications
- Doctorate degree + 2 years sales/account management experience
- Or Masterโs degree + 4 years
- Or Bachelorโs degree + 6 years
Preferred Qualifications/Skills
- 3+ years account management and/or public payor experience.
- 7+ years healthcare sales/marketing (or buying-process/decision-making experience); advanced degree preferred.
- Experience in clinic/hospital/dyslipidemia/heart failure/access environment and cardiology (dyslipidemia, heart failure, acute coronary syndromes) highly preferred.
- Knowledge of Medicare/government agencies, payor systems/billing/coding/reimbursement, CMS policies/processes.
- Experience with hospital committee/P&T processes, DRG and reimbursement; ability to resolve payor-related issues.
- Leadership/influence without authority; networking, negotiation, presentation, and written/verbal communication.
- Ability to analyze data sources and clinic economics/financial performance; navigate clinic reimbursement; manage multiple priorities; work independently and in teams.
