The Opportunity
Intellectual Property Paralegal (IP)

Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain all aspects of intellectual property docketing and file management.
- Track and monitor due dates for intellectual property related annuities and renewals, coordinating with attorneys, instructing vendors, and confirming payments.
- Communicate with outside counsel to ensure timely receipt of documents and accuracy of docketing.
- Prepare and proofread filing receipts, assignments, declarations, and other formal documents.
- Collaborate with the paralegal team and IP practitioners to manage responsibilities and special projects.
- Periodic administrative support for the Vice President, Head of Intellectual Property, and the IP Team.

Skills / Qualifications:
- 3–5 years of patent paralegal experience in patent prosecution and management; biotech or pharmaceutical patent experience strongly preferred.
- Experience handling patent annuities and renewals, including tracking/monitoring due dates.
- Experience with electronic IP docketing and annuity management systems.
- Familiarity with the USPTO e-filing system.
- Proficient with document and email management applications/databases (preferably Outlook, SharePoint, iManage); willingness to learn new systems.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Education:
- Associate, B.A., or B.S. degree preferred.
