Role: IP Counsel supporting Legal and Compliance at Alcon, focusing on patent management for medical devices and manufacturing tech. Responsibilities: manage invention disclosures, prepare and prosecute global patent portfolios, conduct due diligence and freedom-to-operate assessments, analyze competitor IP, draft and negotiate IP agreements, support patent litigation and administrative proceedings, and provide internal IP training. Requirements: Bachelorβs degree or equivalent experience, JD from accredited law school, 7+ years in patent law, admission to a U.S. state bar, registration before USPTO, and experience with patent prosecution and conflicts. Preferred: technical background in engineering, international patent law knowledge, and experience with patent disputes including reexaminations and EPO oppositions.
