Corporate Functions
Responsibilities:
- Maintain docketing system for patents and trademarks
- Maintain electronic US and foreign patent files
- Generate and distribute monthly docket reports
- Ensure all patent and trademark deadlines are met by coordinating with attorneys, colleagues, foreign associates, and outside counsel
- Correspond regularly with foreign associates and outside counsel regarding patent prosecution
- Assist with preparation and filing of patent applications and prosecution documents (e.g., declarations, assignments, information disclosure statements)
- Manage references cited in information disclosure statements across large patent families/portfolios
Qualifications / Required Skills:
- Experience using a patent docketing system and familiarity with the USPTO electronic filing system (required)
- Experience with patent prosecution and knowledge of Patent and Trademark (PTO) rules and procedures
- Strong organization, attention to detail, and analytical abilities
- Ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2β3+ years law firm and/or in-house experience handling patent filing and docketing (pharma/biotech experience a plus)
- Bachelorβs degree
- Paralegal certification and California notary certification (plus)
Application/Work Authorization:
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
Pay Range:
- $100,000β$135,000 (headquarters-based position; may vary by location and experience).
