Role Summary

Innovative Medicine Project Delivery Synthetics Technical Lead leads technical strategy and design for Small Molecule Synthetics facilities within IM PD, guiding facility design, construction, commissioning and handover to operations across multiple sites. Provides expert engineering leadership to ensure safe, compliant, and high-quality facility and equipment standards for capital projects in Small Molecule Synthetics APIs and Drug Product.

Responsibilities

  • Keep abreast of current industry and regulatory standards and trends to ensure manufacturing plants are designed, built and commissioned to leading-edge standards.
  • Define and deploy vision and strategy for standard Facility and Equipment design for IM Synthetics capital projects.
  • Oversee design and creation of Facility and Equipment processes and standards to ensure safe and reliable transitions from project to start-up.
  • Develop new engineering standards for facility design for Small Molecule Synthetics.
  • Provide expert engineering support in facility design, construction, commissioning and process validation for greenfield and brownfield APIs and Drug Product facilities.
  • Nurture future talent by mentoring internal and external engineers.
  • Collaborate with GET team to align technology standards, project execution and engineering specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, regulations, and customer specifications.
  • Proactively research and implement new standards to drive growth and efficiency.
  • Report to senior management on activities and status.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in engineering is required; Master's/MBA/PhD preferred.
  • 12+ years of manufacturing, project engineering, supply chain and capital project execution in Small Molecule Synthetics API and Drug Product.
  • Hands-on experience designing, constructing, commissioning or qualifying manufacturing process equipment.
  • Strong Small Molecule Synthetics API and Drug Product process engineering expertise.
  • Large capital project management experience >$200 million.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and communicate with poise in a high-profile environment.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Willingness to travel at least 25% domestically and internationally.
  • Hybrid remote and in-office work location.
