About The Role
- We’re hiring an Informatics Engineer to build the scientific data and computing platform that powers Prime Medicine’s gene editing programs.

What You’ll Do
- Design and build the data platform connecting NGS instruments, Benchling, and AWS compute (automated ingestion, provenance tracking, scalable storage, observability).
- Build production-grade APIs, SDKs, and internal tools for genomic data and analytics.
- Build an orchestration layer for automated, event-triggered execution of scientific pipelines; own how they run, scale, and integrate.
- Ship AI-powered and agentic capabilities (RAG over internal scientific data, human-in-the-loop workflows, internal copilots).
- Build integrations across ELNs, LIMS, instrument software, and cloud compute.
- Translate scientific requirements into reliable, maintainable software; move prototypes into production.
- Partner with computational biologists, lab scientists, and cloud-support to improve performance, cost, and reliability.

Requirements
- 5+ years (3+ with MS/PhD) engineering experience in production environments.
- Strong Python.
- Production AWS: event-driven, cloud-native (AWS Lambda, EventBridge or equivalent) and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or CDK).
- Docker/containerization; Git; CI/CD; testing in DEV/TEST.
- Track record building integrations/automations; experience in life-science with scientific/regulated data.

Nice to have
- NGS expertise; workflow orchestration (Nextflow/Seqera); Benchling/ELN/LIMS.
- AI/LLM tooling (LangChain, LangGraph, RAG, MCPs); gene editing familiarity (CRISPR/base/prime).
- GxP/21 CFR Part 11; internal app/data viz tools; relational DBs (PostgreSQL/MSSQL).

Interview process
- Recruiter call, hiring manager interview, and panel; includes a Python coding exercise.

Logistics
- Hybrid (Cambridge, MA). No visa sponsorship; US work authorization required.
- Competitive base salary, equity, and standard benefits; eligible for annual short- and long-term incentives.
