About the Role
- IG Patient Advocate I provides unbranded, disease state education and peer-to-peer support to people living with Primary Immunodeficiency enrolled in MyIgSource, while complying with legal and regulatory constraints.
- Reports to the Community Engagement and Recruitment Lead.
How you will contribute
- Make outgoing and handle incoming calls via the toll-free MyIgSource phone line.
- Provide unbranded disease state information and resources about PI, unbranded IG treatment/plasma, self-advocacy, MyIgSource, and Takeda programs.
- Enroll patients/caregivers in MyIgSource, obtain opt-in, and document all interactions appropriately.
- Handle or triage incoming calls from HCPs as appropriate.
- Travel to and attend approved local/regional/national patient events and relevant HCP events; share experience/speak to educate on PI and peer-to-peer support and available resources.
- Attend unbranded PI education support meetings and use discretion to remain mindful of legal/regulatory constraints.
- Participate in videos, brochures, photos, etc. sharing personal experience as an advocate (PI and MyIgSource).
- Provide feedback to senior leaders on the patient, HCP, disease state, and emotional journey (when permissible).
- Educate internal audiences on PI patient experience/journey and MyIgSource tools/resources.
- Share personal story in compliance with Takeda policies/SOPs and Legal/Regulatory/Ethics & Compliance guidance.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications
- Bachelorβs (strongly preferred)
- 3β5 years customer service/sales experience (or teaching experience if no degree)
- Significant education or experience with Primary Immunodeficiency (PI) strongly preferred
- Patient advocacy, healthcare, and/or regulated industry experience preferred
- Proficient communication/interpersonal skills and essential English oral skills
- Strong understanding of healthcare/pharma/biotech/medical device industries and relevant laws/regulations
- Excellent decision-making/analytical skills
- Initiative/ownership; excellent organization and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize
- Basic computer/internet skills (Microsoft Office: Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Ability to explain complex subjects simply
- Compassion and passion for patients; bias toward action with high ethical standards; self-starter and collaborative team player
Travel
- Ability to travel 25% (including weekends)
