Role Summary

HypoPara Clinical Specialist (CA) focusing on supporting the launch of Yorvipath. Responsible for understanding and identifying customer needs, supporting pull-through activities relative to the customer strategy, and ensuring Ascendis Pharma is viewed as a valued partner to healthcare professionals and their patients. Develop superior product and disease state knowledge to engage in appropriate clinical dialogue and educate on approved indications and product efficacy/safety profiles to support on-label prescribing.

Responsibilities

  • Engage in customized discussions and in-person interactions based on customer needs in a compliant and ethical manner.
  • Drive outstanding sales performance to meet or exceed forecasts.
  • Use assigned budgets to drive therapeutic and territory expectations.
  • Maintain understanding of local market, practice structures, business models, and key influencers; share information with Sales and Commercial Leaders.
  • Work with customers and accounts to understand practice structure, business model, influencers, network structure, and opportunities.
  • Utilize analytical tools to evaluate the business and determine how to achieve sales objectives with appropriate resources.
  • Collaborate with leaders to develop a business plan, understand formulary approvals, and align opportunities with implementation.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver resources and pull-through within the territory.
  • Demonstrate administrative excellence in managing work hours, sales call data, responses, samples, expenses, and related tasks.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree; advanced degree preferred.
  • Required: 5+ years of sales experience in a specialty environment; rare disease and injectable experience, adult endocrinology experience preferred.
  • Required: Ability to work in ambiguous, changing environments; start-up experience preferred.
  • Required: Experience with complex distribution systems and HUB services.
  • Required: Demonstrated strong performance and ability to perform in a new product launch environment.
  • Required: Experience with patient services in distribution HUB and specialty pharmacies.
  • Required: Self-starter with excellent decision-making, judgment, and ethics; ability to collaborate across functions.
  • Required: Experience in a specialty drug environment addressing customer and patient needs in a compliant way.
  • Required: Ability to develop a business plan based on customer and patient needs; analyze data/metrics to assess progress and identify opportunities.
  • Required: Ability to establish new customer relationships and communicate technical information effectively and ethically.
  • Required: Ability to meet credentialing requirements; valid driver’s license and safe driving record; overnight travel required.
