Role Summary

HypoPara Clinical Specialist (CA) focused on supporting the launch of Yorvipath. Responsible for understanding customer needs, supporting pull-through activities relative to the customer strategy, and ensuring Ascendis Pharma is viewed as a valued partner to healthcare professionals and patients. Develop superior product and disease state knowledge to engage in appropriate clinical dialogue and educate on indications and product efficacy/safety to support on-label prescribing.

Responsibilities

  • Engage in customized discussions and in-person interactions based on customer needs in a compliant and ethical manner.
  • Drive outstanding sales performance to meet or exceed forecasts.
  • Use assigned budgets to drive therapeutic and territory expectations.
  • Maintain current understanding of local market, practice structures, business models, and key influencers; share insights with Sales and Commercial Leaders.
  • Work with customers and accounts to understand practice structure, business model, key influencers, network structure, customer needs, and identify business opportunities.
  • Utilize analytical tools to understand the business and determine how to accomplish sales objectives while applying resources effectively and ethically.
  • Collaborate with leaders to develop a business plan, understand formulary approvals, and integrate opportunities into implementation.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to deliver resources and pull-through within the territory.
  • Demonstrate administrative excellence in managing work hours, sales call data, customer objectives responses, samples and expenses, and other admin tasks.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree; advanced degree preferred.
  • Required: 5+ years of sales experience in a specialty environment; rare disease and injectable experience and adult endocrinology preferred.
  • Required: Ability to work in ambiguous, changing environments; start-up experience preferred.
  • Required: Experience with complex distribution systems and HUB services.
  • Required: Proven history of strong performance; experience in a new product launch environment preferred.
  • Required: Experience with patient services in a distribution HUB and specialty pharmacies.
  • Required: Self-starter with excellent decision-making, judgment, and ethics; ability to collaborate across functions.
  • Required: Experience in a specialty drug (rare/orphan disease) environment addressing customer and patient needs compliantly.
  • Required: Ability to develop a successful business plan based on customer and patient needs; ability to analyze data/metrics to assess progress and diagnose issues.
  • Required: Experience establishing new customer relationships and communicating technical information ethically and effectively.
  • Required: Ability to meet credentialing requirements; updates may be necessary based on territory and policy.
  • Required: Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
  • Required: Overnight travel.
