Role Summary

HypoPara Clinical Specialist responsible for understanding customer needs, supporting pull-through activities relative to the customer strategy, and ensuring Ascendis Pharma is viewed as a valued partner to healthcare professionals and their patients. Primary focus on supporting the launch of Yorvipath.

Responsibilities

  • Develop superior product and disease state knowledge to engage in appropriate clinical dialogue with healthcare professionals; educate on approved indications and product efficacy/safety profiles to support on-label prescribing.
  • Engage in customized discussions and in-person interactions based on customer needs in a compliant and ethical manner.
  • Drive outstanding sales performance to meet or exceed sales forecasts.
  • Utilize assigned budgets to drive therapeutic and territory expectations.
  • Maintain understanding of local market, practice structures, business models, and key influencers; share insights with relevant stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with customers to understand practice structure, business model, influencers, network structure, and opportunities.
  • Use analytical tools to evaluate the business and determine how to achieve sales objectives ethically and effectively.
  • Develop and execute a business plan with leaders; understand formulary approvals and opportunities and integrate them into the plan.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver resources and pull-through within the territory.
  • Demonstrate administrative excellence in time management, sales call data, responses to customer objectives, sample and expense reporting, and other admin items.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree; advanced degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of sales experience in a specialty environment; rare disease and injectable experience and adult endocrinology preferred.
  • Ability to work in ambiguous, changing environments; start-up experience preferred.
  • Experience with complex distribution systems and HUB services.
  • Proven history of strong performance; experience in a new product launch environment preferred.
  • Experience with patient services in a distribution HUB and specialty pharmacies.
  • Self-starter with strong decision-making, judgment, and ethics; ability to collaborate across functions.
  • Experience in a specialty drug (rare/orphan disease) environment addressing customer/patient needs in a compliant way.
  • Ability to develop a successful business plan based on customer and patient needs.
  • Ability to analyze data/metrics to assess progress and identify opportunities.
  • Experience establishing new customer relationships and communicating technical information ethically and effectively.
  • Ability to meet credentialing requirements; updates may be required depending on territory and policy.
  • Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
  • Overnight travel required.
