Responsibilities:
- Start-up, normal operation, monitoring, and shutdown of HVAC and equipment.
- Maintain coolers and freezers, including Ultra Low Temperature Freezers.
- Operate centrifugal and reciprocating refrigeration chillers.
- Maintain chilled water systems, including distribution and condenser pumps, and air compressors.
- Perform preventive maintenance and repair of industrial air handling systems.
- Operate the facility-wide BAS system.
- Conduct daily rounds on all HVAC equipment.
- Coordinate with departments and Facilities Management for planned and unplanned work.
- Coordinate with outside contractors/vendors for scheduled and/or non-scheduled preventive maintenance or general work.
- Participate in rotational on-call for site emergency work.
Qualifications:
- AAS plus the following minimum experience (level varies):
- HVAC Technician II: AAS with 2+ years (or equivalent education/experience).
- HVAC Technician III: AAS with 5+ years (or equivalent education/experience).
- HVAC Technician IV: AAS with 8+ years (or equivalent education).
- Solid understanding of industrial HVAC systems, including industrial air handler unit maintenance.
- EPA certified for refrigeration gases.
- Able to become fully gown qualified to work in production areas.
- Able to perform safe, efficient hands-on maintenance per SOPs, cGMPs, GDPs, and quality standards.
- Preferred: Electronic, PLC, mechanical, and building automation systems experience in pharmaceutical industry.
