Job Summary:
The Account Manager owns the B2B customer relationship in large, complex healthcare delivery networks and serves as the primary liaison with major customers. Engages C/D level clinical & non-clinical stakeholders to understand needs and deliver a customized value proposition. Meets/exceeds sales objectives through an integrated territory business plan. Provides scientific/clinical information within the disease state area and approved products, and delivers clinically brand sales presentations to physicians, APPs, medical staff, and appropriate clinic personnel using a customer engagement selling model. Achieves success by aligning to the brand system, convincing HCPs to prescribe within indication, and servicing accounts.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Build partnerships with IDNs, academic centers, and key decision-makers (e.g., CMO, Pharmacy Director, infectious disease specialists, P&T committee members).
- Achieve/exceed sales targets via integrated business plans for key accounts.
- Identify and engage key influencers; meet customer interaction expectations.
- Plan/organize activities to achieve call metrics; optimize coverage/frequency.
- Deliver clinical brand presentations driving appropriate utilization.
- Understand customer delivery systems (physician hierarchy, pharmacy, clinical nursing).
- Develop product/competitor knowledge and track local/regional trends.
- Analyze trends to set goals and craft product launch business plans.
- Collaborate with sales peers to share best practices.
- Provide feedback on marketing strategy; analyze territory performance; develop territory plans with RSD/brand team.
- Manage territory budget.
- Complete administrative tasks; follow corporate brand strategy/tactics.
- Participate in training; maintain compliance with corporate and industry policies.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelorโs degree in a relevant field.
- Valid driverโs license.
- Travel up to 50%.
- Account Manager 6: 5+ years biotech/pharmaceutical experience.
- Account Manager 7: 3+ years biotech/pharmaceutical experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven product launch sales success; hepatology experience.
- Track record achieving targets; account selling/comple complex sales.
- Health Systems business model knowledge (P&T, formulary, stakeholders).
- Experience calling on C/D level in large complex networks (e.g., IDNs).
- Lateral leadership in matrixed organizations; independent/team effectiveness.
- Data/trend analysis for business plans; adaptability.
- Passion for improving patient outcomes; strong compliance mindset.
- Exceptional presentation/selling skills and business acumen.
- Fluency in Mandarin, Cantonese, Korean, Vietnamese, or Tagalog.
Requirements:
- Travel up to 50% (potential overnight stays); lift/move up to 35 pounds.
