Job Summary:
The Account Manager owns B2B customer relationships in large, complex healthcare delivery networks (e.g., health systems, state CDC awardees, major health departments, FQHCs). Serves as primary liaison to largest customers; engages C/D-level clinical and non-clinical stakeholders to understand customer needs and deliver a customized value proposition. Meets/exceeds sales performance objectives via an integrated territory business plan (key targets and key accounts). Provides scientific/clinical information for the relevant disease area and approved products. Delivers clinically brand sales presentations using a customer engagement selling model. Optimizes customer engagement through effective resource management and adherence to policies. Success includes appropriate prescribing to eligible patients and excellent account servicing aligned to the brand.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Build partnerships with large organized customers (IDNs, academic centers) and key decision-makers (e.g., CMO, Pharmacy Director, ID specialists, P&T committee members).
- Achieve/exceed sales targets through integrated business plans for key accounts.
- Identify and engage key influencers; meet customer interaction expectations.
- Plan/organize activities to meet call metrics and maximize coverage/frequency.
- Deliver clinical brand presentations to physicians and healthcare professionals.
- Understand customer healthcare delivery systems (physician hierarchy, pharmacy personnel, clinical nursing staff).
- Maintain product/competitor knowledge and monitor local/regional market trends.
- Analyze trends to set goals and craft product launch business plans.
- Collaborate with peers; provide feedback on marketing strategy and territory performance.
- Manage territory budget; complete administrative tasks promptly.
- Participate in training; maintain corporate/industry compliance.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelorโs degree in a relevant field.
- Valid driverโs license.
- Travel up to 50% (district size dependent).
- Account Manager 6: 5+ years biotech/pharmaceutical experience. Account Manager 7: 3+ years biotech/pharmaceutical experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven product launch sales success; hepatology experience preferred.
- Track record achieving sales targets; account selling expertise; ability to manage complex processes.
- Deep Health Systems model knowledge; experience calling on C/D level in IDNs.
- Lateral leadership in matrixed organization; independent and team effectiveness.
- Data/trend analysis for business plans; flexibility/adaptability.
- Passion for patient outcomes; regulatory/compliance adherence.
- Exceptional presentation/selling skills; business acumen.
- Fluency in Mandarin, Cantonese, Korean, Vietnamese, or Tagalog preferred.
Requirements:
- Travel up to 50% with potential overnight stays; lift/move up to 35 pounds.
