General Summary:
The Health Economics & Outcomes Research (HEOR) Associate Director leads the development and execution of health economics and outcomes research studies in support of Vertex products. Reports to the Director, HEOR Pain.
Key Duties And Responsibilities:
- Lead complex HEOR evidence generation: cost-effective analyses and budget impact models; prospective/retrospective observational studies; ITCs; meta-analyses/systematic reviews; patient-reported outcomes (measure development/validation); and other research to support asset value.
- Gather and synthesize insights from payers, KOLs, and HEOR experts; stay current on scientific/policy trends; apply expertise to strategy planning.
- Apply best practices to inform design of Vertex observational research studies.
- Partner with medical communications on publication strategy to ensure timely, high-impact dissemination of HEOR evidence.
- Partner with Global Pricing and Market Access to support production of GVD and Value Narrative.
Knowledge And Skills:
- Strong publication track record in peer-reviewed journals.
- Technical HEOR expertise; ability to formulate/lead rigorous, best-practice research projects.
- Strong verbal/written communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to apply knowledge of the US healthcare system, global health technology appraisal, and clinical development to identify evidence gaps and design evidence generation strategies.
- Understanding of the pharmaceutical industry legal/regulatory environment with strong compliance.
Education And Experience:
- Advanced degree (PhD, MD, Masterβs, MPH, PharmD) in a relevant discipline.
- Typically 8 years of experience with substantial HEOR background (or equivalent).
Pay Range:
- $176,000β$264,000 (role eligible for annual bonus and annual equity awards).
Flex Designation:
- Hybrid-Eligible or On-Site Eligible (Hybrid: remote up to 2 days/week; On-Site: 5 days/week on-site with ad hoc flexibility).
