Role Summary

Health Economics & Outcomes Research Associate Director (HYBRID) at Vertex. Participate in shaping and executing HEOR strategies to optimize the value proposition for Vertexβ€šΓ„Γ΄s Cystic Fibrosis and early pipeline assets through development, launch, and post-launch phases. Reports to the Senior Director HEOR, CF and Early Pipeline.

Responsibilities

  • Leads execution of complex HEOR evidence generation studies, including prospective and retrospective observational studies, systematic literature reviews, cost-effective analyses and budget impact models, indirect treatment comparisons, COA strategy, PRO measure development and validation, as needed, to support asset value.
  • Effectively leads external research partners to ensure robust scientific methods are applied to study design and execution and in compliance with all local regulations; accountable for study design, data analysis and the quality of the evidence produced; project management to ensure studies are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Collaborates with medical communications teams on publication strategy and ensures dissemination of HEOR evidence is timely and impactful.
  • Partners with Global Pricing and Market Access to support development of product value proposition/value messaging and co-lead development of robust Global launch deliverables (e.g., global value dossier).

Qualifications

  • Required: Advanced degree (PhD, MD, Master's, MPH, or PharmD) in a relevant discipline; typically 8 years of experience with substantial HEOR background.
  • Preferred: Strong track record of publication in peer-reviewed journals; experience in COA measurement strategy, PRO development/validation and qualitative research methodology; ability to apply knowledge of US healthcare system and global health technology appraisal requirements; understanding of regulatory environment and compliance.

Skills

  • Technical expertise in HEOR; ability to formulate and lead creative research projects with rigorous scientific conduct.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to present difficult concepts and adapt style to diverse audiences.
  • Experience collaborating across functions to identify evidence gaps and develop evidence generation strategies.

Education

  • Advanced degree (PhD, MD, Master's, MPH, or PharmD) in a relevant discipline.
