Role Summary
- Lead the global Oncology alliance management strategy for discovery, development, and commercialization partnerships. Accountable for maximizing strategic, scientific, operational, and financial value.
Responsibilities
- Oversee a complex portfolio of research, clinical development, and commercial partnerships; directly manage a limited number of high-complexity, high-value partnerships.
- Lead alliance management strategy, governance excellence, and disciplined execution; operationalize alliances and jointly execute partnership vision/intent.
- Establish measurable performance metrics, mitigate risk, report decision points and contractual milestones, and define communication plans/processes.
- Lead joint project/governance teams; develop risk mitigation plans; negotiate contractual amendments with Business Development as needed.
- Influence and operationalize new deals; build governance structures/processes to maximize value and execution success.
- Manage alliance managers (onboarding, training, development, mentoring) and coordinate leadership-ready presentations.
Qualifications (required)
- In-depth understanding of drug discovery, development, and commercialization; working knowledge of cross-functional deliverables.
- Proven leadership in matrix global teams; strategic problem-solving; strong business acumen in ambiguity.
- Ability to drive cross-functional/cross-cultural decision-making and manage conflict.
- Strong written/oral communication and organizational skills.
- BS/BA required; 10+ years alliance management in biotech/pharma; 5+ years people management/matrix leadership; direct-line management of a high-performing global team.
- Experience managing cross-functional project teams with timeline and budget responsibility.
Preferred
- MBA and/or advanced life sciences degree; CA-AM certification; relevant Oncology therapeutic area experience; experience fostering global agility and influencing without authority.
