Role Summary

Head of U.S. Reimbursement and Public Policy is responsible for shaping and leading Sanofi’s reimbursement and public policy agenda at the federal and state levels. This role leads a team that provides the analytical and strategic foundation for Sanofi’s U.S. advocacy positions across current and future portfolio. The candidate will engage with agencies, trade associations, and key stakeholders to advance policy objectives and ensure patient access to medicines while supporting a sustainable innovation environment.

Responsibilities

  • Policy Strategy & Leadership: Define and lead Sanofi’s U.S. reimbursement and public policy strategy, aligned with business priorities and the evolving policy landscape; anticipate legislative, regulatory, and market trends and drive cross-functional solutions; lead and develop a high-performing team.
  • External Engagement & Advocacy: Represent Sanofi with agencies on access, coding, and reimbursement issues; develop and deliver positions in public forums, including industry associations and policy workgroups; draft and oversee formal comment letters and testimony.
  • Internal Advisory & Business Partnership: Provide senior management with actionable policy insights and strategic recommendations; partner with business units, market access, legal, finance, medical, and R&D to integrate policy intelligence into strategy and planning; establish agile processes for rapid decision-making.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Support federal and state government affairs teams in policy development and advocacy; collaborate with global colleagues to inform U.S. policy positioning and strategy.
  • Operational & Budget Management: Oversee budget planning and resource allocation for U.S. reimbursement and policy initiatives; drive operational excellence and timely delivery of priorities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 12–15 years of progressive experience in U.S. healthcare policy, reimbursement, market access, or related field within biopharma and/or government.
  • Demonstrated expertise in federal and state reimbursement policy, CMS processes, and market access dynamics.
  • Strong track record of influencing and collaborating in a highly matrixed, global organization.
  • Proven people leadership, with experience managing and developing diverse teams.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking, communication, and relationship management skills.
