Role: Senior Director – Head of Technology for Therapeutic Areas and External Scientific Innovation at Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine, focusing on Immunology, Oncology, and Neuroscience. Objectives: develop and execute technology strategies to advance scientific discovery, target validation, biomarker development, and clinical trial support, integrating external collaborations. Responsibilities: lead cross-functional teams managing portfolios of laboratory, translational, and clinical data technologies; establish multi-year roadmaps aligned with scientific priorities; collaborate with Data, Data Science, and AI (DDSAI) to embed advanced analytics and FAIR data principles; ensure platform reliability, security, and compliance; partner with scientific leaders to prioritize and deliver scalable, reusable data and AI solutions; oversee external data and partner integrations; and stay abreast of scientific and technological trends. Qualifications: Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Engineering, Biology, or related; 10+ years in pharma R&D technology, with at least 5 years leading teams; experience in discovery biology laboratory systems, data management, AI/ML workflows, and translational research platforms; deep understanding of immunology, oncology, and neuroscience data modalities; and strong leadership and stakeholder management skills. High-Value: leadership in pharmaceutical R&D technology, external scientific collaborations, translational and clinical data platforms, AI/ML-enabled workflows, and regulatory compliance. Work setup: multiple U.S. locations or Beerse, Belgium, with up to 15% travel.
